Shannon Weise, MSW, LCSW
Shannon Weise is a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and South Carolina. She has many years of specialized experience treating adults and adolescents with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive related disorders, this includes panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, phobias: such as emetophobia (fear of vomiting), PTSD, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). Shannon has experience working in outpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and inpatient treatment settings.
Shannon received her Master’s in Social Work from Temple University. She studied clinical social work and created an individualized program of study looking at body image of women in India. During her practicum she completed a two-year internship at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center’s Eating Disorder Program. Shannon’s additional training experience includes the study of Cognitive Therapy at The Beck Institute in Philadelphia training under Drs. Aaron and Judith Beck. She studied exposure and response prevention (ERP) treatment for OCD at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA). At the 2016 International OCD Conference in Chicago, Shannon was one of the professionals whom worked/studied alongside of OCD and anxiety expert Reid Wilson using his techniques from Stopping The Noise in Your Head. Shannon is trained in Prolonged Exposure, SPACE Treatment, and recently completed the IOCDF’s BTTI intensive training for Pediatric OCD. Shannon is a professional member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Anxiety, Depression Association of America (ADAA), and Vice President of OCD Pennsylvania.
Shannon approaches treatment using collaborative goal setting with clients to determine areas for intervention and the use of evidence-based treatment methods tailored to the individual. She provides outpatient intensive OCD treatment, in-home services and virtual sessions. Shannon is honored to work with you through your journey.
In Shannon’s free time, she enjoys many interests. She feels being creative is essential to her happiness and well-being. Shannon does this through many mediums such as decorating, refinishing furniture, pottery, painting and photography. She also loves being a dog mom.
